A practical place to start
My Paw Finder helps you find nearby shelters, rescues, and local pounds and connect directly with the organizations caring for paws in need. Search by ZIP code, city, or your current location and choose how far you want to look.
What you can use today
The shelter directory links to organization websites and map listings. Websites appear first, with both groups ordered by distance. Live animal search is still being developed; cards marked Example are demonstration records, not confirmed available animals.
A bigger purpose
Our long-term goal is to support animal shelters and rescues alongside programs helping homeless and at-risk veterans. Future possibilities include fostering, temporary animal care, companionship, and community partnerships. These programs are not currently offered through this website.
Working directly with organizations
Shelters and rescues manage their own availability, adoption decisions, fees, and applications. Follow their official links and contact them directly to take the next step.
